The United States has detected several cyberattacks targeting water systems across the country in recent months. In response to these cyber threats, the United States has launched the Water Watch Center to help small water and wastewater systems defend against cyberattacks. During its initial phase, the Water Watch Center has begun identifying vulnerable facilities in Maryland that need cybersecurity support. In partnership with the National Rural Water Association and Dewberry Franklin, the center will provide cybersecurity services and threat intelligence to under-resourced water facilities.
